Vernon Ice Cream Factory Leased and Rebuilt
The Vernon Ice Cream Factory and Creamery has been leased by J. W. Payne and A. J. Jenson of Dallas for one year with an option for two more. The plant is being renovated with new equipment to handle up to 100 gallons daily, including a viscometer cream cooler and two cream varnets. Jansen, a graduate of Ames University, will oversee production, while Payne manages the business side. The Vernon Ice Cream Plant will operate as the Vernon Ice Cream Plant beginning around April 20, with preparations underway and notices of other local activity included.
