Stephens No 3 Producing 300 Barrels a Day
The Stephens No 3 of the South Vernon Oil company is producing 300 barrels daily and flowing by heads after being pumped Thursday at 3. It flowed by heads twelve times on Saturday and four times gushed over the derrick top from a ten inch casing with a forty foot cave in the bottom. The last of the casing was set Wednesday after heavy caving and oil flow. Located 300 feet west of Stephens No 1 in Vernon county, the well struck an uncharted sand at 1293 feet ten days earlier while testing a deep sand. It is the best of three wells in the South Vernon field. Directors meet this afternoon to discuss changes in the field.

New Bible Class Plans Easter Sunday Program

Local National Guard Company L Receives $500 Pay Roll
The local National Guard unit distributed about $500 in pay on Tuesday night to more than forty members under Captain Clyde D. Watts. The roll was the second smallest ever, with the smallest reported as 83 dollars earlier. Oil Contractor Hurt In South Vernon Field Accident
Paul George of Electra, contractor for South Vernon Oil Company Richardson No 1, was struck on the head by a pittman on the well Wednesday at 2 80 o clock. He fell, hitting his neck on water pipe, was unconscious briefly, taken home to Electra, then rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

School Board Rejects E L Dohoney Reelect and Cuts Principals Pay
