Government Transmission Lines On Private Lands Rights Retained
Acting Regional Director C S Rippon says federal transmission lines often run on private lands with easements. The government can construct, operate, and maintain lines while landowners retain most other rights including public access not granted by permission. About half of new lines may be on private property. crossing fences or using gates requires the landowner's permission.
