Vernal’s Future in Central Utah Project Growth
G. E. Untermann argues Vernal’s future hinges on Central Utah Project water power. Development of Flaming Gorge, Steinaker, Tyzack and related programs could drive regional resource growth including phosphate asphalt oil shale and timber from Ashley National Forest. A sound economy could curb youth outmigration and ease local growth pains but will bring school and utility challenges.
