National highway 40 group moves HQ to Vernal
A national meeting of the Highway 40 Association decided to relocate its headquarters to Vernal and operate from the Chamber of Commerce office. The group trimmed overhead, kept ten billboards, launched an expressive US 40 campaign, and will spend advertising funds through an agency. Bob Campbell remains linked for public relations without guaranteed salary. Next national meeting is set for early June in Denver.

School Board Plans Growth Area With 25 Acre Purchase
Uintah School District agreed to buy 25 acres near Uintah High School from Karl Allen for 25 500. City and county officials eyed about 20 acres for a possible civic center as residential expansion continues. Plans call for two buildings and an additional elementary school to relieve congestion at Central and Maeser. a larger campus may follow as the town expands west and north toward Maeser along the water line.

A Diamond Mountain Cricket Control committee meeting in the courthouse drew Colorado and Utah reps. Colorado pledged 4234 in immediate federal state and county funds to cover a combined 25000 acre infestation area. Influenza Strikes Uintah County With 25 Cases Last Week
