Polio Booster Shot Shortage in Utah

Dr. A A Jenkins of the Utah Health Department reports no third polio booster vaccine available in the state. Supply is very limited and priority is given to high risk children birth to ten years and pregnant mothers. Fewer than half in the priority group have been vaccinated. There is no commercial vaccine in Utah as all allotted doses go to the state.

At a Wednesday county commission meeting officials reported purchasing microfilm copies of local records from Branley Title Co of Heber. Vernal City Council Approves Land Option Near High School

Vernal City council meeting approved a $600 option fee toward Harold Totter’s land near the high school, with the option expiring Jan 2 1957 and the fee credited to the purchase price. Engineers to survey Flaming Gorge dam access road in Vernal

State road engineers are slated to survey Vernal in mid May to plan an access road to the Flaming Gorge dam site. Vernal Chamber of Commerce and River committee representatives discussed the plan with state officials in Salt Lake City, confirming cooperation and possible additional funding. The group noted Utah aims to be first with a road to the dam site and detailed ground and air surveys will be arranged. Vernal Jaycees elect Dale Slaugh as new president

Dale Slaugh was named president of the Vernal Jaycees at a hotel meeting last night in Vernal. Access route favored for Flaming Gorge site railhead

C H Jacobson, engineer for the U S Bureau of Reclamation Region 4, said the Green River Linwood access road to Flaming Gorge dam site is the most favorable railhead route for the reservoir project. He spoke at a meeting of the Wyoming State Highway Commission, noting the Ashley site mouth of Greenwater, Utah as a likely final location, with a higher powered head railroad line than alternatives.
