Advisory Board seeks to stop sale of grazing lands
The Advisory Board protested the sale of choice grazing areas on public land that would strip stockmen of winter feed, risking their livelihoods. The transfer would move 48,334 acres to the state in lieu of school sections within the Indian Reservation, including 10,207 acres in Uintah and 20,037 in Grand counties. Impacts cited include potential precedent harming the livestock industry, with specifics on parcel locations and land ages. The board also approved a soil and moisture program for the Manila Browns Park area to restore depleted range and prevent year round overgrazing.
