Grasshoppers and Weevils Threaten Uintah Basin Alfalfa
Farmers face heavy grasshopper pressure and weevil presence in Uintah Basin alfalfa. Peppard Seed Co issued guidance on how to poison grasshoppers, noting hoppers hatch in spring and summer, grow through molts to wings, and that early growth is the best window for poisoning. The article urges irrigation planning and close crop watching over the next ten days to protect a possible first cutting seed crop.
