Silver Cloud star of Vernal July Fourth celebration

Vernal prepares a grand Independence Day with a $20000 trick horse performance by Silver Cloud. The program includes a morning free demonstration, a baseball game against the Indians, horse and bicycle races, tug of war, and a patriotic program led by orator Edward Johnson. Brave Fight Ends for Little Buddy Nelson

A ten year old boy known as Buddy Nelson died Sunday after more than a year of illness. The community mourns as funeral services in the First Ward chapel honored him with flowers and prayers. The Trailbuilders Primary group carried flowers to his casket and a singing group performed Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam. The service concluded with burial at City Cemetery followed by consoling remarks from local church leaders.

Funeral Services Held For Earl J Wentz In Vernal

Funeral services for Earl J Wentz who died of lung abscess at the local hospital were held Thursday June 5 at Swain funeral home under Reverend Guild of the Community Church. Wentz, who came to Vernal sixteen years ago with Mr Girt, lived on Diamond Mountain and is survived by a sister in Indiana. Community members cared for him during five weeks in the hospital, and his remains were buried in Rock Point Cemetery.

Arrival of Mrs Hansen's Daughter in Alamosa

Sudden Death of Four-Year-Old Brimhall Daughter

The four year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Esta Brimhall died abruptly from convulsions while her father was away in Colorado. A funeral was held at 2 pm Tuesday in the First ward chapel with Bishop James H Wallis in charge. Floral casket decorations and a Sunday school quartet accompanied the service. Interment followed in City Cemetery with prayers by Jos Horrocks.
