Challenger Airlines president Donald A. Duff foresees Vernal becoming a major oil center and links the town to national air transport. He notes improved service to Denver Casper Billings and northern Wyoming and says future flights depend on Vernal airport upgrades and passenger demand. Duff cites recent oil discoveries and notes a faster Vernal Casper connection as key.
Duff led Challenger officials who arrived on the first scheduled airliner July 1 to push radio aids to air navigation night lighting and other improvements. They urged Vernal to act quickly on building a modern terminal paving ramps and taxiways and completing a modern airport facility.
