Captured Mountain Lion to be Freed in Saturday Hunt
A five month old mountain lion captured last week in the Willow Creek area will be released during a special hunt this Saturday. George George, Udell Venndiner, and Charles Ally will oversee the event at Winter Ridge and Little Asphalt Canyon. The hunt begins at 108 a.m. and invites spectators to watch dogs track the animal.

Vernal resident Rosella Carline Freestone Beck, 77, died at home Wednesday after a long illness. Known as Zell, she was born September 10, 1877 in Taaho to George and Jenny Freestone. Survived by six children including Alton and Larence Beck, and numerous grandchildren. Funeral services set for Saturday noon at the Vernal Third Ward Chapel, with arrangements continuing on the next page.

Two Artesia, Colorado women were injured when their car rear ended a tanker parked in Highway 40 traffic four miles east of Jensen. Maxine Gillespie, 35, suffered severe facial and head lacerations. Mrs Carl Huber, 27, sustained serious injuries. both were taken to Uintah County Hospital.

Store Burglars Sentenced To Utah Prison
Two men convicted of second degree burglary in Vernal were sentenced to one to twenty years in the Utah State Penitentiary by Judge Joseph E. Nelson. Rene Reindeaun, 21, of Grand Rapids Minnesota, and Charles W. Parrish, 30, of Louisville Kentucky, were arrested in Craig Colorado. They admitted forced entry through a rear window and were found with four rifles an army jacket two boxes of 32 caliber bullets and two pairs of Levis. Missing was $4 in change.
