Continental Oil Abandons No 1 Kralovec in Duchesne County

Former Myton Resident Killed In Crossing Wreck
Edward Zirker aged 60, formerly of Myton, died last Tuesday in a train truck crash near Moses Lake Washington. His truck with ten calves was struck by a Milwaukee Railroad engine at a highway crossing ten miles east of Moses Lake. The impact pushed the track 1775 feet, the calf herd perished, and engineer Walter Krause said the train could not stop in time despite bell and whistle. Zirker, born in Payson in 1904, lived in Arcadia and Myton before moving to Moses Lake two years ago. He was a member of the LDS Church. Survivors include three children Evelyn 15 Pamela 12 and 10 all of Moses Lake, and brothers John of Warden Julius of Moses Lake Lawrence of southern Utah Willis of San Diego and sister Mrs Warren Odekirk of Salt Lake City.

Sergeant First Grade Wayne D Martinsen, wife Henrietta of Provo Utah, serves in Germany with the 1st Infantry Division's 1st Engineer Battalion known as the Big Red 1. Son of Mr and Mrs George Martinsen, he is a squad leader, US High School graduate of 1948, entered the Army in 1953, arrived overseas in September last year after prior duty at Fort Belvoir Virginia.
