Bonanza Official Injured in Truck Collision
John H. Baker superintendent of the American Gilsonite mine at Bonanza was injured in a Sunday 11 30 p m traffic crash one mile west of Bonanza on a county road. His car, a 1954 sedan, collided with a nearly stopped 1952 water truck driven by Edward Jenkins Vernal. Baker received knee and chest injuries and chin lacerations at Winter County Hospital. Passenger Paul Borden of Bonanza was uninjured. Baker was cited for excessive speed by Deputy Sheriff Carl Staley.

Two Accidents Caused by Slick Roads in Vernal
Two traffic accidents occurred in Vernal this week at distinct intersections due to slick roads. At Fifth East and Fifth South, 21 year old Margaret Elaine Wagner of Agiesia drove a 1951 sedan east while Gerald A Coltharp of Vernal drove west. damages were $300 and $175 respectively. The second crash at Second South and Second West involved Kenneth H Westover of Redondo Beach, California, 85, and Margaret Birchell, 29, Vernal. damages were $300 and $200. Westover was cited for failure to yield right of way. The incidents were investigated by Officer Hugo Hullinger.
