Spring Wheat Growers Cautioned By County Chair
Charles Wise, chairman of Utnetat County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee, urges spring wheat growers to plant within their allotment to avoid penalties. Notices warn that all county wheat acreage will be measured. those avoiding notices gain marketing cards, while overplanting leads to loss of marketing cards until excess wheat is disposed of as directed. Penalties reach 45 percent of the May 1 1954 parity price, charged against all farm wheat sold unless a marketing certificate is shown. Growers have four options to address excess wheat.
