Francis Feltch Elected Head of Uintah Radio Firm

Francis Feltch was elected president of the Uintah Broadcasting and Television Company at a stockholders meeting held Friday at Hotel Vernal. James C. Vallentine was replaced as president, Logan was elected vice president, Lee Walker named secretary treasurer, and the board expanded from five to seven with BOH Stringham and Stewart Ashton joining. Directors include Ray E Dillman Roosevelt and Howard D Johnson. The company aims to add television when economically feasible.

George P Roth owner of Fashion Cleaners was elected a director of the Utah State Cleaners Association at the sixth annual convention in Salt Lake City. Attending were Vernal residents including Ruth Stevens and Mr and Mrs Jim Sutton. The association endorsed Echo Park Dam construction and 226 delegates sent letters to President Eisenhower urging support.

Seven hams and steaks crown Vernal trap shoot winners

A large turnout at the Vernal Rod and Gun Club range saw nearly two hundred shooters and spectators. Prizes included seven hams, seventeen steaks and various tackle boxes, knives, roasts and gear won by Du Swain Ed Calder Dale Jensen and others. Proceeds fund Herb Smart’s Utah Wildlife Federation travel to a national convention to advocate for Echco Park Dam amid national opposition.

BYU Variety Show at Uintah Stake Tabernacle

Brigham Young University presents a musical variety program at the Uintah stake tabernacle Saturday night. Delta Phi chorus of 25 male voices, led by Richard Robinson, tours the Northwest and has performed with Fred Waring. The Deltone trio Elaine Sorenson Carolyn Callister and Kay Moody, winners on the Edgar Bergen program, join the program with Jane Thomson directing. Maeser Child Injured in Two Car Collision Near Maeser

A two car crash on a county road near Maeser at 5 p.m. Tuesday left four-year-old Vicki Lyn Conrad and other occupants injured. The 1946 International pickup driven by Sybil Bohn Conrad stopped in the lane was struck by a 1947 Willys Jeep driven by Olive Hacking of Vernal. Hacking cited for no license and failing to look out. Vicki Lyn treated and released from Uintah County Hospital.

Roosevelt Driver Cited for Hit and Run

A 35 year old Roosevelt driver was cited for hit and run after failing to stop at a crash scene near Ft Die sissue Monday. Victor T. Ganinen issued the citation. The crash involved Louis and Timothy Macser, with cargo valued about $100. Investigation by Lowell E. Bak of Utah State Highways Patrol noted a second accident in the area with estimated damage of $160.
