Two Historical Markers Erected During Past Year
Uintah county marks its fifth memorial with the Maupe ferry monument dedication at Jensen on October 12. Other markers commemorate the Escalante expedition, Fort Brigham and Fort Duchesne sites, and a 1934 Jensen area ferry. The piece urges more markers along U S 40 and lists potential future sites and milestones across Uintah Valley.

Vernal Community Notes urge water rights and road funding
Vernal residents press for better water rights and more reservoirs, urging County Commissioners to favor a county wide program. They point to past tax levy reductions and seek support for state funds redirected to roads, aiming for debt-free status by 1941. Community groups report meetings, dinners, and social events across Uintah County with multiple clubs and local figures noted.
