Rainbow Camp Moves to Bonanza for Glsonite Work
The Barber Company plans to relocate the Rainbow mining camp to Bonanza mine 59 miles south of Vernal to house workers and families. Sixteen cottages with living rooms, basements, and screen porches will be built, prefabricated materials salvaged, Gemasco shingles used, and landscaping with Siberian Elms added. A community hall and school facilities will provide recreation and education as Homer D. Ford aims to create a modern, contented camp community.

Uintah County Jail Breaker Recaptured in Vernal
Dale A. Shreeves 17, alleged leader of a fugitive trio, was recaptured near his hometown after escaping Uintah County Jail in Vernal. Federal agents announced the capture in Salt Lake City while search continued for Charles Krajeski 20 and Walter Mrowka 18 of Connecticut. The two other fugitives eluded capture, fighting the escape as authorities pursued them through snow bound regions toward Salt Lake or Denver.

Utah Power To Show New Unit Saturday
Utah Power and Light invites the public to inspect its new engine driven generating unit at the Vernal station one half mile north of town. The exhibit runs Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Visitors will learn about the unit and its 130 horsepower capacity. The second unit at this station mirrors the first in capacity and is part of ongoing service reliability upgrades. May rate reductions expanded electric service demand for Vernal customers.

McNaughton Ordered to Surrender to Law by Deadline
John B. McNaughton, convicted of a December 1933 felony and given 1 to 10 years, must surrender to the Sheriff of Uintah County by December 10, 1937. If not, bondsmen will be ordered to surrender him by December 15 at 2 p.m. Bond set at 75 dollars. McNaughton appealed to the State Supreme Court.

Rites Held At Jensen For Riley Murray
Funeral rites for William Jer sey Murray Jensen pioneer and stockman were held Sunday at 2 p m in the Jensen ward chapel with Bishop Ira S Gardner presiding. Murray died about 6 p m Tuesday from a heart attack while doing chores at Jensen. he had been visiting his wife in Vernal. Speakers praised his achievements and a Vernal quartet provided music. Interment was in the Jensen ward cemetery. Murray, 67, born October 4 1870 at Spanish Fork Utah, married Emma Estella Hunting on January 1 1895 at Jensen. survivors include widow two sons four daughters and several grandchildren.

Final rites for William Henry Smart 75 prominent Utah business leader and church figure were held Sunday in Salt Lake City. Speakers included David O. McKay Joseph Fielding Smith and Don B. Calton. He died Friday at a Salt Lake hospital of pneumonia after years in business civic work including temple service. Born 1862 in Franklin Idaho he held multiple stake presidencies and helped found several companies and banks. He served missions in Turkey England and the eastern states and led various church and business ventures for over fifty years.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Marser ward chapel for Marion J Hacking the eight year old son of Owen and Evlyn Johnson Hacking. He died Monday evening of bronchial infection after a brief illness. Surviving are parents four brothers and sisters Kenneth 7 Merle 5 Joyce 2 and a baby sister three weeks old. Born October 25 1923 in Vernal. A mixed quartet and local school children performed, with speakers including Wallice Crider Areile Johnson and Bishop Bingham. Interment followed at Mack.
