Reservoirs and Roads Built by C C C in Vernal Utah
In 1937 the CCC camp near Vernal constructed two corrals near Jensen on the Green River to split and hold livestock. They completed corrals with a dipping facility at Maud Ellen well and built seven reservoirs across dry Uintah County to supply about 30 000 sheep. Reservoirs include Derry near Sprouters Pond and Powder Wash which has saved stockmen money. Additional projects cover road and erosion work, a Twelve Mills Bridge approach across Powder Wash, a Little Bonanza mine dam, Twin Duties pond east of Lapoint, and fences along the National Forest boundary. More reservoirs and corrals are planned as weather allows for winter work near Vernal and spike camps.

Ashley Forest Report Highlights 1937 Improvements
Ashley Forest Supervisor A L Taylor outlines 1937 progress including the Hope Creek Sheep Creek road replacing a dangerous switchback, new Birch Creek access, and expanded recreation at Patridge Park. He notes increased grazing, timber demand, growing campgrounds, limited campground funding, and the forests role in watershed protection and community welfare.
World wool supply predicted to rise
The article notes domestic mill consumption since early 1935, suggesting a probable accumulation of finished and semifinished wool goods. It hints at an increase in world wool supply, with stock buildup across several trade channels, reflecting broader market conditions.
