Statewide Property Tax for Schools Cut to One Mill by Commission
Utah cuts statewide property tax for schools to one mill, down from 2.3 mills last year, funded by a near 6 million uniform school fund surplus and a 45 million transfer from the state general fund. The chief notes projected revenue from income tax more favorable, while reliance on ongoing funds remains if receipts lag.
