Animal Circus Set Aug 29 in Vernal
An early edition notes a three ring wild animal circus by Carson and Barnis will visit Vernal for a one day stand. Gates open for public viewing of the erection of the big top and at 10 am children may see many wild animals being fed and watered. Ashley Valley Junior High Discloses Teacher Changes
Preparations are underway at Ashley Valley Junior High for the new school term. A number of teaching changes are noted since last spring with a full corps contracted to fill vacancies. Funeral Held Monday for River Victim Tarrell Johnson
Funeral services for Tarrell Frank Johnson 22 of Davis who drowned during a swimming party August 14 were held Monday at 11 am in the Davis ward chapel. His body was found Thursday morning in the Green River by Weldon Carroll and Charles O Norison of Vernal. He had been married six weeks. Johnson was born January 13 1935 in Vernal, son of Benjamin Franklin and Katie Merle Smith Johnson. He attended Uintah High School and married Dixie Darlene James Massey July 6 1957 in Vernal. Survivors include his widow, his parents and ten brothers and sisters. Burial was in Vernal Memorial Park.
