Bids were opened at the Reclamation office in Vernal for seven five stall and four ten stall prefabri cated metal garages at Flaming Gorge dam as the government moves to the project. Apparent low bidder was Dean Nt. Maybury of Ogden with 597,703 50. Other bids came from Jerryl Johnson Salt Lake City 608,261 B and C Steel Co Scotts Bluff Neb 704,445.65 Witt Construction Co Provo 77,953 and Dethers and Stoker Salt Lake City 89,599. The engineer's estimate stood at 973,275. Notice to proceed expected in 2-3 weeks. construction to start about 16 days after.

Storms and cooler weather have moved doves south and hunting looks favorable. Daily bag limit is ten doves per hunter in Bentember through early September. Shooting times vary by date and location from dawn to early evening. Doves may be hunted with a bow and arrow or a shotgun no longer than a 10 gauge.

Funeral Services for Arthur Nord Planned in Ogden
Funeral services for Arthur G Nord aged 49 former Ashley National Forest supervisor will be held Friday at 1 pm at Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden. Nord died at his Ogden home Tuesday evening after retiring from the Forest Service about a year ago where he had served as a member of Utah State.

Rangely field unitization eyed to extend life and boost output
C L Pickett of the Rangely Operators Committee explains proposed unitization to operate the field as a single lease to extend life. Rangely spans about 19 000 acres with 481 wells and over 225 million barrels produced by July. Estimates foresee 340 million barrels from primary recovery and 388 437 million more with gas injection and water flooding.

DUP Plans Rites Saturday for First Your Mill Marker
A market dedication service marks the first tour mill built in Ashley Valley. The event occurs Saturday at 2:30 PM in Maeser Ward chapel, hosted by the county Daughters of Utah Pioneer chapters with State President Kate J. Carter scheduled to speak. The mill, once owned by William Reynolds and son, operated by water power along a canal north of Maeser, is commemorated by a marker erected by local DUP members with Mary Freeman and Georgianna Merkley among captains.

Eddie Oaks led Lions with key homers and high averages as the crowded stands backed the players.
