Oil Shale Test Run Planned at Rifle Colorado
James Boyd of the U S Bureau of Mines announces a two day test production run at the Rifle oil shale near Rifle Colorado on September 20 and 21. The trial aims to show commercial scale mining methods and establish direct mining costs with a unit of a larger mine. A May test achieved 33 cents per ton and over 100 tons per man shift.
