A crowded Main Street car left a rider unable to reach the conductor and he mailed the fare with a note praising staff. The general manager circulated the story and sent a complimentary letter and token to the grateful patron. Bids are invited by the Vernal Milling and Light Company for digging 370 holes along the power line from Ashley Gorge to millsite on the north side of Vernal. Holes five feet deep must be completed by October 1. Sealed bids due by August 22 at noon and addressed to Herbert Tyzack, secretary, with the company reserving the right to reject all bids.
The University of Utah announces registrations for students begin Monday September 16 with entrance examinations on September 11 12 18 and September 13 15 for college engineering normal and preparatory courses.
