City Council approves Second South street walk petition
The City Council met Wednesday night with Mayor Johnson presiding. A petition by twenty residents on Second South street for asphalted walk from block 6 northeast to fractional block 2 was granted. Bills approved for L Richardson payroll 993.75. Andrew Vernon wood 40.00. Chan Atwood Jr. sand 14.76. A N Johnson special policeman 300. The council ordered sidewalk work north from McAndrews corner and 1 1/2 blocks south from Wm Winn corner pending surveying and grading. Adjourned.

George H. Mulvey, manager of Pittsburgh Salt Lake Oil Mining Co, announces output increases from four to eight carloads monthly and refinery from 100 to 500 barrels daily at Spring Valley Wyoming. Mine force along Strawberry and Duchesne rivers to double. Salt Lake plant will process Weigerite and Tabyite into paints, varnishes, rubbers and oils with many bi products.

Milligan is busy with the only binder in Independence, promising two to three weeks of work as farmers hurry for engagements. E Horn and F Horn with B Rush spent most of last week in Vernal. William Greer made a quick trip to Vernal. Mrs John McAndrews and Vernal daughters paused in Independence en route to Myton for a week with Mr and Mrs Clark. Abplanalp of Vernal lost a fine horse after delivering hay near Theodore. Independence youth plan a hotel dance on the 28th, hoping neighboring towns attend. W L Fisher plowed for Mease last week. Harris brothers on the beach bought a binder to harvest for local farmers in coming weeks.
