The Vernal Merchant's girls basketball team defeated the Craig Fisate Lumber girls 16 to 5 to extend their win streak to four. Co captains Nadean Odekirk and Mary Ann King lead the squad coached by Earl Gross. They plan to play Grand Junction on Sunday August 14 at 4 p.m. with uniform colors Kelly green and white. The Vernal team is entered in the Craig softball tournament August 2021, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, featuring nine Colorado teams and a first prize of 75 dollars with 25 to second place.
