Lifestyle as key to curb rising health costs
Richard L. Lesher argues federal health spending drives cost inflation from 40 billion in 1965 to 140 billion today. He cites lifestyle as a major health factor, notes wage-and-price policies raise costs, and warns against a new national health plan while criticizing price controls and rising government spending. The column labels health care as a growing fiscal challenge and advocates individual responsibility.
