Detroit reports twelve thousand unemployed in the city amid scattered notes on inc. filings, state board meetings, and political commentary. Includes incidents from St Mary's Kansas to Cleveland wagers, Washington monument tales, and regional fires, elections and graft probes.
A local dealer advertises Bakers Drills with iron frames and spring pressure hoes at reduced prices. Each drill is warranted. Prospective buyers are urged to call and inspect before purchasing.
General Sherman said he may reply in the future but only through the War department and after consulting his own convenience. He noted Davis did not address him directly but the St Louis Republican. Sherman warned reporters and referenced the Grand Army's social nature. He cited Louisiana papers to back claims that conspirators in Washington forced the civil war and that Davis shifted views on secession while threatening force against separate state action. He has sent letters and papers to Washington and awaits official publication guidance.
