Farmers Woes Economic Not Political Says Wallace
Atlanta November 24 Farmers troubles across the United States are economic and not political and will continue until farming is run on business lines. Henry C Wallace Secretary of Agriculture told the third annual convention of the American Farm Bureau Federation that help should follow crops to the consumer and focus on agricultural business. He warned the present mood is the worst in history and noted Congress has passed more farm relief legislation in eight months than in any comparable period. He cited bank slowdowns delaying War Finance Corporation loans of 21 000 000 to 2 000 000 daily and opposed government price fixing as it would spur overproduction harming producers.
