Lakota School Board approves 13 energySaving steps
Lakota Schools will cut energy use this winter following 13 recommendations from Superintendent Herbert Henderson. Measures include calibrating heating systems, setting thermostats 68–70, reducing temperatures to 60 on weekends, closing drapes, eliminating heat in Union Elementary garage, consolidating after school activities, turning off lights in unoccupied rooms, and trimming bus trips and stops.

Auto crash claims life of Middletown driver
A 45 year old Middletown man Charles E. Thomas 3023 Seneca St was killed in a single vehicle crash on I 75 about 8 50 pm last Tuesday. He was thrown from the car suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to McCoy Leffler Funeral Home. Butler County records this as the counties 62nd traffic fatality of the year.

Driver Dies After Off Road Crash on I-75
A motorist identified as Thomas was northbound on I-75 when his vehicle left the west side, struck a fence, and vaulted into an embankment along LeSourasville West Chester Road. Last year at this time 41 county traffic deaths were reported.

Retires in Liberty Township Warren Satterfield Ends 22-Year Public Run
Warren Satterfield, long-time Liberty Township trustee and clerk since 1951, retires this month after 22 years in office. A Pittsburgh native, he helped form the Lakota Boosters and served as Lakota football timekeeper while guiding fire protection expansion and a 50 000 dollar fire bond. Union Township to Review Butler County Zoning Revision
Union Township officials will begin public hearings in January on a revised Butler County Zoning Resolution. The updated code expands the 1956 county zoning rules, with county commissioners starting the revision nearly two years ago. Trustee David McGinnis called the changes a significant improvement and easier to use.
