Butler County Coroner ruled drowning as the cause of death for 33 year old James Long of 6050 Fields Ertel Road Pisgah after an autopsy. He was pulled from his backyard pool about 8 45 p m after sinking while swimming a fifth length. Long leaves a wife Patricia two children and extended family.

County Gas Cut Expected At Ten Percent
Butler County engineer Stanley M. Perin announced a likely gasoline reduction of no more than 10 percent from Marathon Oil Company. Earlier reports suggested up to 50 percent, but Perin said county departments using the engineer's garage should not face higher costs and tanks remain at about 22 cents a gallon for several departments including the sheriff.
