Patrolman Sneed Injured In Early Morning Crash
Troy officer Richard Sneed was injured when his patrol car collided with Beatrice Willette’s vehicle on Hoosick Street near Sixth Avenue at about 4 30 am yesterday. Sneed, off duty and driving his own car, suffered head injuries and is in the hospital. Willette, 59, received head and knee abrasions and was treated and released. A third car owned by James Martin and driven by Shirley Martin struck the rear of Sneed’s car after the crash. both Willette and Sneed vehicles were towed from the scene.

Rail Benefit Boost Seen for Railroad Retirements
Rep Harris said Congress will lift railroad retirement by about 10 percent next year and fund it with higher payroll taxes on railroads and their workers. The plan could add up to 160 million dollars annually to railroad tax costs, with the retirement program run by the government through equal contributions. The Senate previously approved a 10 percent benefit increase and higher maximum unemployment pay for railroad workers.
