The Hoosick Falls Fire Department signs a one year contract to cover No Man's Land from Jan 1 1977 for 1500 dollars after a public hearing with minimal attendance. The area covers Route 22 to Falls Hardware Supply and several streets outside the village.
The annual Christmas Bazaar at St Patrick’s Church Cambridge will run December 3 and 4 at Patrician Hall. Saturday afternoon features counters with items for sale and a second floor with games for children. Four cash prizes totaling 600 dollars will be awarded. Catherine Relihan donated a red white and green afghan to boost the fundraiser.

Robert Hall, Hoosick Falls, charged Sunday with open container violation.
Thanksgiving services will be held at the Petersburg Baptist Church with non perishable food donations for Albany City Missions. The Berlin Community Thanksgiving Service is at Sacred Heart Church at 7 30 p m Wednesday. Mr and Mrs Paul Bultman and family return from New York City after the death of Mrs Bultman’s father. Mrs George Burdick returns home from Cohoes Memorial Hospital after treatment for a broken hip. Petersburg Youth Commission meets at Veterans Memorial Hall on Thursday Dec 2 at 8 p m.
The North Colonie School Board voted unanimously to forgo state tax exemptions for new or expanding businesses, delaying approval on two proposals and noting fairness concerns for existing firms. The board also reported 6.93 percent of $523,376 in uncollected taxes turned over to Albany County and awarded a $3,535 contract to Sofco.ne.
The North Colonie Teachers Association with about 340 members planned to vote on a two year contract offering a total five per cent increase. The plan provides two per cent raises in each year but delays standard increments for experience and graduate credits. In the second year two increments would be awarded.
A follow up to the Colonie Town Meeting of November 13 will be held 8 p m Monday at the Colonie Town Library Maxwell and Albany Shaker Roads The meeting will discuss the possibility of another town meeting and several proposals from the previous gathering A Colonie Town Band concert follows at 7 p m Monday at the Van Rensselaer Manor in Troy and is open to the public.
Latham Kiwanis Club will start a national program called Safeguard Against Crime to alert the public about rising crime and to propose ways individuals can help prevent it. Victor Sgambato, the club president, says local civic and government groups will back the effort.
The All-American Red Heads women's basketball team will face the North Colonie Teachers' Association male stars at Shaker High School in Latham. The exhibition starts at 7 p.m. with tickets available in advance at the high school office or at the door. profits go to the North Colonie Teachers' Association.
