Albany Law Student Dies In Head On Collision
An Albany Law School student, 22 year old Michael Barry of Rochester, died after a head on collision on Route 20 near Albany. James E. Ford, 19, of Albany was hospitalized with facial injuries. criminal action pending against Ford as autopsy results are awaited. The crash occurred at 1 am on Western Avenue near Arcadia Avenue in Guilderland near the State University at Albany. Ford’s 1965 sedan collided with Barry’s 1964 Volkswagen in the eastbound lane. probable cause cited as Ford failing to keep right. Both cars were towed from the scene. Barry was a law student at Albany Law School.

OES Reports From New York Grand Chapter Session
Mrs Lawrence Olsen and Mrs Sarah Whitman reported on the New York Grand Chapter session of the Eastern Star at Van Rensselaer Chapter Hoosick Falls meeting last Friday. Mrs Whitman became matron for opening and closing ceremonies during Step-Up Night as officers shifted roles preparing for next year. Memorial Night is set for Fri Nov 17 with refreshments by Mrs Forrest Reed and Mrs Ira Fisk. Local officers including Raymon E Calhoun will attend a home chapter reception tonight by Bethlehem Star Chapter in Troy honoring Mrs Roberta Robillard, district deputy grand matron for Second Albany Rensselaer Schenectady District. Mrs Robillard is wife of Deputy Sheriff Ernest Robillard.

Health Unit Collections Set Today in Hoosick Falls
Donations will be gathered today in Hoosick Falls village and Hoosick town for the annual Donation Day for the Hoosick Falls Health Center. The Health Center Auxiliary will collect farm produce canned goods money gifts to buy specific items. Residents should leave donations at Wilcox store or contact the auxiliary for a final collection tomorrow during the 2 PM meeting and by phone for call requests.
