Young notes dogs attack only on command, with each dog paired to a trainer, living together when possible. The program on a vacant office floor mimics a warehouse setting for field readiness. Smoky, a longtime companion, and other dogs like Troop and Baron illustrate varied temperaments and backgrounds.
