Visher Ferry Will Battle Reservoir Fight Draws Support
Residents of Vischer Ferry and nearby areas vow to fight the Latham Water District plan for a Stony Creek reservoir in Clifton Park. The State Water Power and Control Commission approved the project, prompting potential appeals from the Clifton Park Protective Association led by A. Stevens. The scheme would flood property near Vischer Ferry to supply Albany County and Colonie residents, with conditions to provide Clifton Park and Vischer Ferry water if requested. An Albany attorney for opponents said the next steps are unclear, possible appeal within 30 days, and a meeting will draft a formal statement. In other news, Roscoe Young was taken to Samaritan Hospital after illness, listed as fair.
