Carey makes unexpected landing at Schenectady airport
Governor Hugh Carey’s plane made an unscheduled landing at Schenectady County Airport Sunday afternoon after hydraulic problems developed with the landing gear. Crewmen fixed the issue and the C 130 transport landed safely as Carey returned to Albany from Buffalo.

Two Involved in Clifton Park Car Crash Injuries
State Police at Clifton Park report a two car crash at Clifton Park Center Road and Litterly Road Saturday at 8 20 p m. Rosemarie Gazzia of Hollandale Apartments Clifton Park had a minor knee injury when her car collided with a vehicle driven by Carmelo Gazzia. A second passenger in the Gazzia car received a minor head injury. Charles Frahme of 11 Beach Street Ballston Spa was cited for traveling at an unreasonable speed.

Glens Falls Fire Kills Four Dogs at Sherman Avenue
A Saturday blaze at the Kelly residence on Sherman Avenue in West Glens Falls destroyed the home and killed four dogs left inside. Firefighters arrived at 3 28 p.m. and, aided by neighboring companies, battled the fire for two and a half hours. No residents were home. the cause is under investigation.

Auto crash in Albany area injures two motorists
Colonie Saratoga Court in Latham and Ellen J. McEwen of Teaneck New Jersey were treated and released from Albany Memorial Hospital. Victoria Timental a passenger in the McEwen auto also treated and released. Police said the Konis car slid from Maxwell Road into Route 9 hitting the McEwen auto. David Hodgkin of 53 East Glenwood Drive Latham then struck the rear of the Konis car.
