Ballston Spa Man Promoted to Army Lieutenant Colonel

FT. LEAVENWORTH Kan. James M. Dearlove, son of Mr and Mrs A W Dearlove of Hutchins Road Ballston Spa Route 6, was promoted to lieutenant colonel while assigned to the U S Army Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth. He entered the Army in March 196 and earned a master’s degree in 1970 from Kansas State College. His wife Marsha resides with him at the fort.

Snowmobile Found After Missing Vehicle Travel Through Hoosick Falls

Hoosick Falls Police found a lone snowmobile on High Street Sunday at 8 23 a m. They believe it fell from a trailer. Henry Oswald of Hawthorne later located the snowmobile he had lost after traveling about five miles through town. Mary Martin on Center Street reported a tire slash on her car Friday and police continue to investigate.

Stillwater basketball team rescued from Cambridge snowstorm

No natural gas service in rural Northern Rensselaer County

Gas shortage minimal impact in southern Rensselaer County

A survey of 10 southern Rensselaer County businesses shows only one fully dependent on natural gas for heat. Most have lowered thermostats to 63–65 degrees, with oil or electric heat used elsewhere and planning to reduce hours to save energy. No major customer or employee complaints were reported.
