Workers in Hoosick Falls push to join the Civil Service Employee Association to establish a communications channel with the village board. Narotics crackdown nets seven arrests in Capital District

Seven people were arrested Thursday morning after search warrants in Sand Lake Schodack and North Greenbush. Police say the seizure includes marijuana hallucinogens amphetamines and cocaine with a street value around 110000. authorities say the operation halted major drug suppliers and the probe continues with potential more arrests.

Hoosick Falls Historian details life of Continental soldier

Revolutionary War historian Robert Milligan Jr spoke to the Hoosick Township Historical Society about the ordinary Continental soldier. He described uniform colors, equipment, rations, pay in continental scrip, and health issues, noting many factors shaped a soldier’s life and that few uniforms survive. He highlighted the Brigade of the American Revolution and its Bennington bicentennial showcase at Walloomsac August 13–14 with about 200 soldiers, crafts, and demonstrations from several eastern states.

Retirees celebrate REAC anniversary in Hoosick Falls

About 75 members and guests attended the Eagles Activity Club anniversary in the clubrooms. Mildred Day was named REAC Queen for 1977 and George Cuddiley Man of the Year. Emcees were Sadie Daniel and Harold LaPorte with Prudence Tatro absent. The program featured songs dances skits and a bull fight act followed by a songfest and dancing.

Driver Education Course Aims to Polish Tarnished Records

East Greenbush offers an eight hour driver education course at Columbia High School under the National Safety Council and New York DMV. For 20 dollars motorists with at least three points learn accident avoidance, passing tips, and liquor effects on driving. Courses run one weekday weekly for three weeks once a minimum of 30 students enrolls. Local judges may issue conditional discharges for violators who attend.
