Mechanicville Man Shot In Hand In Thruway Parking Lot
A 20-year-old Mechanicville man, Clifford J. Yandell of 130 River Rd., was shot in the hand by an unknown man who demanded money in a parking area west of the Fultonville Thruway interchange Sunday at about 10 p.m. He was treated and released at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital after driving from Syracuse to General Electric in Schenectady. The bullet passed through his hand and lodged in his vehicle door. The investigation, led by Major N. Lecakes, includes state police Troop G and Thruway detail officers.

Duplex Destroyed by Fire in Saratoga Springs
A Sunday blaze leveled a four apartment duplex at 8 Allen Dr Saratoga Springs owned by Dan Budt of Schenectady. No injuries reported and occupants listed include Mrs J Cowen Allan Bull Mildred Collyer and Mr and Mrs Carivana. Firefighters arrived after 1 pm fully involving the structure and fought the fire for about two hours and 15 minutes, with the origin suspected in the furnace area.
