Both projects emphasize forward-looking streetscape amid Luther Forest housing plans.
Clifton Park planning board tabled action on Vinciguerra land plans awaiting a list of permitted businesses such as dental offices or racquetball courts. The 30 acre site near Clifton Country Mall faces resident opposition and traffic concerns, with a public hearing pending town board review.
The Ballston Spa area planners propose using 50 CETA workers funded by federal dollars to conduct a countywide property reevaluation over two years. A computer based system will store market values and the methods used. The board may bid the project by September with six contractors already notified.
Dr. Ernest Marra of Clifton Park appointed director of dental services at the Whitney M. Young Jr Community Health Center in Albany. He previously directed the Brooklyn Dental Clinic and served on the New York City Bureau of Health Care Services Medicaid Division staff.
Schenectady woman Ali Ladd 31 died at Ellis Hospital after a 7:47 am crash on South Broadway involving three cars near the Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Her husband Robert 35 was in critical condition at Ellis Hospital. Two passengers in Teddy Alfano's car were in fair condition at Saratoga Hospital. Alfano and two others were treated and released. The third driver Robbin Bailey of Troy was uninjured. No tickets issued.
Mechanicville The Delaware and Hudson Railroad is deemed solvent by the school board after reviewing back taxes and bankruptcy claims. The district will accept $24 497 from the B M for past taxes instead of the full 37 849 plus penalties. The board approved a five percent raise for 1977 78 and 1978 79 and noted $42 514 less state aid.
The Tippecanoe Family Branch of the Schenectady County YMCA sponsors its fifth annual Swim A Thon at the Princetown Road branch from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Proceeds support mortgage relief and improvements across four branches. Contact Scott Squillace, general chairman.
