No arrests planned at Saratoga Racetrack by INS this month
The Immigration and Naturalization Service says it has no plans to arrest illegal workers at the Saratoga Racetrack this month. INS official Michael Landon in Buffalo said no information indicates any aliens are employed there, despite past busts at nearby Belmont Park.

Stage is set for Hoosick Falls 150th anniversary weekend
Months of planning and fundraising culminate in a four day celebration from Thursday to Sunday. Events include a beard and period costume contest at Wood Memorial Park, VIP luncheon at the Hoosick Falls Country Club, 150th buttons for sale, redesigned bicycle races for all ages, an anniversary booklet, parade followed by 20 demonstrations of old crafts, awards at 6:30 p.m., Drum Corps exhibitions, and food booths by local clubs at the athletic field and Elks temple.

Fourteen musical units will join the 11 division 150th anniversary parade this Sunday in Hoosick Falls. The lineup includes Les Eclipses from Montreal, Volunteers from Speigeltown and Cambridge, Kosciiszko Pulaski Drum Corps of Adams MA, Taconic Pipe Band, Young Patriots Drum and Bugle Corps of Gloversville, Village Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps of Glenmont, Green Sabres Drum and Bugle Corps of Schuylerville, South Glens Falls Pipe Band, Continental Cadet Drum and Bugle Corps of Catskill, Pom Poms Drum and Bugle Corps of Pittsfield MA, Golden Marauders Drum and Bugle Corps of Fort Henry, plus Hoosick Falls Central School Junior and Senior Bands. Floats and rescue units also join. Parade starts 2:30 pm from Main Street at Barton Avenue and winds through town to the athletic field.
