Seed option advances aid seed corn farmers in AAA plan

The AAA announced an option and advance plan for seed quality corn where farmers may seal corn under loan terms and sell seed to the AAA at 1.00 per bushel by May 1 1935. The plan allows local sales with a 20 cent advance repaid, or adjustments by the administration with a 25 cent additional payment. If the option is not exercised, producers may keep the 20 cent advance but must repay the loan balance. Corn loans stay with CCC to qualify for the 20 cent advance. Seed corn must pass quality inspection and storage standards before options are offered. The program aims to preserve seed stocks and help distribute to needy growers.
