Cattle feed decisions for winter by Iowa experts
Prof C C Culbertson of the Iowa Agricultural Experiment Station advises farmers to match cattle type to how long they will feed them and their farm’s suitability. Calves finish poorly on corn stalks, while yearlings may fare better. fall calves marketed in 7 to 12 months often yield higher profits, with careful rationing including corn, alfalfa hay, linseed oilmeal, and minerals.

Costa Rica's three districts define race and labor divisions

Corporations Hold Large Share of Iowa Farmland
A department of agricultural economics study shows corporations own about 7.2 percent of Iowa land, with insurance companies holding nearly half. Holdings rose from under 100 tracts in 1923 to 4,308 by 1932, concentrated in the north and south central regions. Foreclosures have increased on better land, and management by lenders is seen as wasteful, potentially keeping land off the market until prices rise. Total loans to Townland and others reach about 750 million dollars with insurance loans around 450 million.
