Hunting and Fishing Seasons Shift to Saturdays
Beginning with the 1955 56 season all hunting and fishing seasons start on designated Saturdays. Dates like November 11 are replaced by Saturday references. Quail pheasants Hungarian partridge and rabbit openings move to specific Saturdays in November and September. Next year fishing dates run from April to August with Saturday openings for catfish frogs and bass. Continuous open seasons remain for rough fish and several others. The change follows requests from church labor school and patriotic groups to avoid Sunday or weekday openings.
