M. S. Chenault of Iowa Hardware Mutual Insurance spoke at the Tripoli Roadwinders Teen-Age Drivers meeting in Town hall last Friday. He explained three factors in setting rates, compared costs by area, and noted driver education correlates with fewer accidents. Regular meeting was postponed due to low attendance.
Shirley Ann Piehl daughter of Mr and Mrs Fred Piehl Fairbank became the bride of Leo J Landers son of Mr and Mrs Landers Greene in a double ring ceremony at Immanuel Lutheran church Klinger Sunday afternoon Rev Wm F Reddel officiating. Bride wore French mache lace gown with Chantilly skirt train pearls rhinestones veil seed pearls rhinestones. Delores Landers Greene sister of the groom was maid of honor. Bridesmaids Joyce Piehl Fairbank cousin Mrs Jerry Wagner Nashua and Lorraine Schneider Waterloo wore strapless gowns with taffeta bodices nylon net and nylon lace jackets. Best man Kenneth Piehl Fairbank and Duane Schneider Fairbank were attendants. Receptions for 270 in church parlors. Out-of-town guests from Greene Allison Clarksville Cedar Falls Waterloo Denver Readlyn Fairbank Sumner and Klinger. Bride attended Readlyn High School and worked at National Bank of Waterloo. Landers from Greene is a farmer.

Friends and relatives joined Leo Schuldt in celebrating his birthday on Sunday, August 14. H. J. Hankner entered Allen Memorial hospital in Waterloo on Friday and underwent surgery Saturday morning. His condition is improving rapidly.
Iowa Farm Bureau federation schedules meetings from September 6 to 12 to educate members on school problems. Bremer County committee will join a September 7 session at the Farm Bureau building in Fayette. The Bureau released a reference manual detailing school organization, reorganization, study committees, finances, recent legislation, laws, and cost data.
Thursday evening visitors at Henry Blasberg's home celebrated Danny Quade's first birthday with Ervin Heine Karla from Waterloo. Sunday dinner guests at Ernest Quade's home included Vernon Quade and family Sumner Robert Wentland Fredericksburg Ernst Hoppenworth Larry Vogt Harold Quade Danny and Shirley Blasberg.
Community members visit and call on neighbors across Pinhook near Waverly and New Hampton. Howard Van Brocklin Sr. undergoes major surgery and is recovering at Sumner hospital. Several families travel for hospital visits and celebrate birthdays in local homes including Albert Kuethe and Raymond Kuethe.
Hampton spent the weekend in the Clyde McConkey home. Local families including the Burkes Rochfords Leachs and O Day attended the Staack McFarland wedding at Sumner Saturday evening. Earl Avery and family visited Howard Van Brocklin Sr. at St Josephs hospital New Hampton Saturday afternoon.
