Tragic Zephyr Accident Kills Rees Spellman 28 Near Chadwick
Rees Spellman a 28 year old ordnance depot worker was killed instantly when struck by the Burlington Zephyr west of Chadwick Illinois as he sat on a rail near the track. Identification came from a battered dinner pail and clothes matching Spellman. Coroner and a jury ruled the death occurred September 3 1942 at about 10 50 a m.
