The Chicago Motor Club warns that bicycle collisions have risen 78 percent in the past decade and offers safety tips. Follow signs and signals, ride with traffic, use signals, keep brakes and lights in good condition, yield to pedestrians, and wear white or light clothing after dark. Never ride against traffic on a one way street or hitch to moving vehicles. Stop before crossing busy intersections.
