County Agriculture Calendar Promotes Planting and Dairy Events
The county urges completion of cash crop planting and haymaking plans. Ass't State's Attorney Begins Duties July 1
Carroll County will employ an assistant State's Attorney starting July 1. State's Attorney William Petty asked the board to raise the $5,000 allowance to $7,500 to cover the assistant and a second secretary. The board approved the increase, to be used for the assistant and secretary salaries, with staff in the office 8:30 am to 5:00 pm five days a week after July 1. The May meeting also saw multiple resolutions and appointments including road weight limits, Civil Defense, housing surveys for the former county farm home, and plans for low cost housing units in Mount Carroll. The board approved real estate sales, a county garage building project, and salary increases for County Clerk William Nipe and County Treasurer Howard Gorman.
