Harry B. Williams 85 of Dixon Illinois and brother of Lyle Williams of Thomson died Monday morning in Orchard Glen Nursing Home Dixon. Services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church Dixon with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Park.

Memorial Day Parade and Program Plans in Thomson
Plans are set for the Memorial Day parade and program on Friday May 30 organized by the Thomson American Legion. Legion members meet at 8 30 a m at the Legion Hall then march to Upper and Lower York cemeteries with groups gathering at 10 30 a m at the school and proceeding to the village park for the 11 p m service. Reverend William Bergman will speak and the Thomson varsity band directed by Earle Mailand will perform. After the service all participants go to the Tasty Mates Drive In for treats.

Four civilians received awards last week at Savanna Army Depot for suggestions. The top prize went to Mrs. Rosemary M. Morfey of Savanna for a new method of cleaning and processing fuze cavities. Major James Frisbie presented awards to Mrs. Arlene E. Glaser of Bellevue for wrench handle modification, Edna M. Estabrook of Thomson for paint spray booths, and Miss Maylo J. Tigges of Dubuque for equipment modification used in fuze painting.

Last Day of School Sets Schedule for 1968 69 Term
The district ends the 1968 69 term with teacher workshops all day Monday and no student classes. Report cards will be distributed to grade and high school students at 9 30 Tuesday morning. Buses will run about one hour late Tuesday morning and depart for the return route around 10 30 a.m.
Cancer Society Plans Rummage Sale on June 14
The Cancer Society will hold a rummage sale on Saturday June 14 from 9 to 4 at the McGinnis Melon Stand Route 84. Donations of used clothing or household items are invited and pickups can be arranged by calling Mrs Marvin Holesinger at 259 5344. All proceeds go to the Cancer fund.
