Mr and Mrs Claude Wildman of Thomson attended funeral services Tuesday for his mother Mrs Dora Wildman 77 lifelong Prophetstown resident. Surviving are three sisters and her mother Mrs Nettie Laurence who recently observed her 99th birthday. Laurence lives in Prophetstown nursing home.
The WSCS of Thomson United Methodist Church announce a tea and style show of homemade clothing at 8 pm on May 21 in the church. The event is open to women in the community and anyone interested in modeling clothing.
Residents are urged to contact Mrs. Don Marken or Mrs. William Bergman regarding clothing donations for women and children. The appeal notes items such as garments for women and children are needed.
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wagner and Mrs. Joe Root attended funeral services Tuesday afternoon in Muscatine Iowa for Mrs. Mahala Smith 69 of Muscatine who died Sunday morning in a local hospital. She was the sister of Mr. Wagner and is survived by three children and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Enroute to Muscatine Tuesday they visited Mrs. Bessie Wagner and Ernest Wagner of Letts.
Mr and Mrs Harold Bush of Morrison were Sunday afternoon callers of Mr and Mrs Leonard Feldt. The brief social item notes community ties and local residents visiting neighbors on a weekend afternoon.

The Methodist Youth Fellowship groups of Thomson Argo Fay and Hickory Grove enjoyed a baseball game a wiener roast and a program at the John Sour Farm last Sunday afternoon and evening. The Argo Fay group hosted and the Hickory Grove group ran the program. The Argo Fay and Thomson groups have decided to join into one group.
Mr and Mrs Harold Atherton of Savanna and Mr and Mrs John Atherton and Bonnie of Thomson attended a family dinner Sunday at Arthur Crofton home in Sterling. The event honored the 76th birthday of their mother Mrs Wavie Atherton of Shannon.
Mrs Mervin Marshall was dismissed Tuesday from Mercy Hospital and is convalescing at home. Glenn Kreuder was discharged Saturday from Morrison Community Hospital and is recuperating at home. Frank Reiss has been readmitted to Mercy Hospital as a medical patient. Wilfred Hazen of Rock Falls was taken by ambulance Wednesday to Sterling Community General Hospital after a fall at work.
